Power of Pure PredatorPee – buyer beware of diluted urine repellents

equation

Greetings from the North Woods!

It has been quite a while since my last post, and I really have no excuse except maybe for the fact that summer in Maine lasts only about two months, and every true Mainer(which status I can’t really claim since I was born in NJ)knows that you have to squeeze as much out of it as possible. So, summer projects – boat painting, Scout restoration, gardening, care and feeding of two piglets and 10 hens as well as mowing, mowing and more mowing seem to take up a lot of my time these days.

Today it is raining, and I have unearthed the keyboard in order to reconnect with the blogosphere. My post today concerns the fact that some of the companies out there that sell similar products to those of predatorpee.com, do not have a problem delivering a diluted urine product to their customers. I am not about to name names or sling mud, but I just want consumers to know that this can be a problem.

What is the big deal, anyway? Wolf urine is still wolf urine even if it is diluted, right? Yes, that is true, but according to some research, diluted urine repellents are actually less effective than undiluted urines when field tested against each other. I have included a link to one such study below. If you are the scientific type, you will probably understand it better than I did. But even for a layperson like me, it is pretty clear that the bobcat urine worked very well against woodchucks and voles in its undiluted form and not well when diluted.

http://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_damage/nwrc/symposia/repellents_symposium/pdfs/swihart.pdf

So, when you buy predator urine to protect your gardens, yards, etc. this summer, even if you aren’t buying from us, make sure that the product you are purchasing is actually 100% undiluted urine. This will ensure that those unwanted critters go away and stay away.

Hope your summer is going well and your gardens are critter free!

Unwanted Loiterers? Skunk ‘Um!

loiteringGreetings from the North Woods! The sun is shining and it is in the fifties. That is a hot day for this particular Spring.

Enough about the weather. As you may have guessed, I am not really much of a people person. My wife is the social one, and that works out just fine for me. Now, you know that we at predatorpee.com specialize in helping you deter problem animals, but, whether you are a people person or not, there may come a time when you have unwanted persons loitering around your home or business.

Well, as it happens, I have developed a solution for that particular people problem as well. Just like our other products it is all natural and highly effective. My product “Skunk ‘Um” includes 1oz of Pure Skunk Essence and a spray bottle. Just mix with water, spray & the “hang-out” area is closed! If you have ever experienced the odor of pure skunk essence, you know how powerful it is. Put this natural deterrent to work to protect your property from problem people. Please note that I did not advise you to spray the product on anyone – in this day and age that probably constitutes assault – just let the scent drive them away.

When the days start to get longer and the sun shines more than not, I get itchy to work on projects. So, check in again for an update on my Scout truck.

It’s Spring Somewhere

File:Colorful spring garden.jpg

Greetings!

Well, it must be spring somewhere, but it certainly isn’t here. I tapped maples with my grandson a few weeks back, but then the sap all froze in the trees. There might not be any Winterberry Farm syrup this year.  Although, farther north they just got another half a foot of snow, so I shouldn’t complain too much. Anyway, for many of you it is time to start thinking about gardening and protecting those vegetables and plants from common pests.  Right now I would give my right arm to even see the bare ground let alone be able to till and plant anything!

Anybody who has farmed, or had a yard garden or even a container with a few vegetables in it, knows how much work it takes to keep them well fed and watered. That hard work can all be wiped out by a hungry rabbit or a busy woodchuck.

Since 1986, we have been selling quality predator urines to farmers, ranchers, and hobby gardeners to help them keep their precious vegetables and flowers safe from the ravages of  animal pests. We provide 100% Coyote, Wolf, Fox, Bobcat, Mt. Lion, Fisher and Bear Urine for protection against all types of animal nuisance garden and yard invaders.  No harsh chemicals, expensive traps, or inhumane methods needed with these all natural repellent for stopping animal pests.

So, when spring decides to show up in your neck of the woods, and you can finally get your hands in the dirt, think about how you will keep those plants safe all the way through to harvest time. Hopefully, we will have enough spring and summer for a harvest up here!

Coast to Coast Coyote Troubles

Greetings from the Pee Farm!

Well, the weather forecasters are predicting a good ole nor’ easter for tomorrow into Friday. Accumulation forecasts are all over the map. As usual, we will see what actually ends up on the ground when all is said and done.

coyote2smallIn the mean time, before hunkering down for the storm, I thought I would squeeze in a blog post. I know that I have posted about the coyote problem that is facing the nation many times, but it is a nuisance that is not going away, and we still haven’t sufficiently gotten the word out about the usefulness of 100% Wolf Pee in combating this situation. Below are articles from states across the nation that have been written in the past few weeks alone. They vary in tone, but they all recognize the growing threat of the coyote to small pets at the very least. One article mentions that the coyote has become the top predator since the eradication of wolf and mountain lion in some areas. Well, it stands to reason that if the wolf is a step above the coyote in the food chain, the coyote has instinctual fear of its natural predator and that is why even if the coyote has never seen a wolf, wolf urine will scare them. But, I will let you make up your own mind about that . . .

I received this testimonial in my Peemail box just today . . .

deterrent. searched your website also for dispensers as they are hard to find. it
has kept coyotes away from my ducks. Penny”

A Word for Punxsutawney Phil and his Friends

Greetings form the frozen North!

philcloseupWell, I know that the famed groundhog’s recent prognostication has left many of you in a state of consternation. I would join you there except that when you live in Maine there are almost always at least six weeks of winter left after February 2, and since I choose to live here, I really shouldn’t complain. The fact that I will soon be enjoying the sunshine and beaches of Puerto Rico may also be helping my mental attitude just a bit.

While Phil himself enjoys the plush life of the domesticated groundhog, his friends and relatives will be waiting out the six weeks or more in their burrows until the green shoots of early spring begin to appear. When they emerge, unlike the well-fed Phil, they will be HUNGRY!

It is not too early to think of what you will do to keep those oversized rodents from making a meal out of your garden or burrowing their way around and through your yard.  Just so happens, I have a pee for that! 100% pure Coyote urine. It is available in liquid or convenient granules. As we all know, coyotes are a most voracious predator. So when you want to get rid of groundhogs, gophers, etc., coyote urine is a most effective natural repellent and deterrent that stops these pests from eating your garden, damaging your yard, chewing on your shrubs, ornamentals and flowers. Coyote urine is the only all natural, organic solution.

So, while I can’t do anything about Phil or Old Man Winter for that matter, I can help you make your spring and summer groundhog free. So that when the warm weather finally does return, you can enjoy it.

PeeLoaded Peeshots(do not drink or shoot)

Greetings from the North woods! Well, the January Thaw is history and the mercury is holding a little above zero this morning with a fresh coating of snow once again covering up the brown remnants of previous storms. I made sure to rake the roof right away so as not to have a repeat of the ceiling damaging leaks of a couple of weeks ago. The noise of the rake on the roof sent my dog into a frenzy since apparently the sound from inside is akin to thunder. Plus, I earned myself a trip to the physical therapist for my shoulder, but the roof won’t leak and the wife will be happy.

As a continuation of my last post on wire chewing rodents, I wanted to announce that we have launched a dedicated informational page for this problem at www.predatorpeeshots.com. Now, you can’t order a Peeshot at your favorite watering hole(if you can, I don’t want to know about it)or buy a case at the sporting goods store, but they sure are useful for keeping those pesky rodents away from your engine block or out of your attic, basement, or wherever you don’t want them nesting.  They come in an 8 pack and are “Pee-Loaded” with our 100% PredatorPee. PeeShots are preloaded dispensers perfect for use indoors or out. Just remove the cap and you are good to go!predator-urine-peeshots-76

How to Prevent Rodents from Chewing Car Wires

Well, the January thaw is in full swing around here with rain and snowmelt continuing. Next week it looks as if old man winter will mount a comeback, but for now I am enjoying not worrying about frozen pipes or ice dams. While it might not be below zero outside, it is still cold enough for rodents to want to come in from outside. An easy to access dry, warm place can be under the hood of your car. We hear from our customers about this problem all the time and we are trying to get the word out . . . 100% PredatorPee PeeShots are the convenient, effective answer to this annoying problem.

On of our customers emailed the following suggestion –

“Someone should tell the NPR ‘Car talk” guys about this, they are always getting calls about cars damaged from rodents, or rodents dying in cars……Christina”

Also, in case you doubt how much of a problem this can be, I found the article below on the website of Sweeney’s Garage –

Rodent Damage = Expensive Repair
Cold this winter? You’re not the only one!

You might be surprised to learn that during these winter months you may have some furry little visitors living under your hood. The warm dark recesses of your car’s engine compartment is an ideal nesting area for rodents. Mice can and will chew through the wiring under your hood leaving you with an expensive repair bill.

One customer complained of a check engine light and a rough running engine. Upon investigation we found a mouse had chewed through the wiring for his fuel injectors.

Another mouse got into a blower motor where he expired. Every time the heater fan was turned on, it made a loud vibration noise. Some signs you might want to look for under your hood include deposits of bird seed, nests made of string, twigs, insulation, fabric and what looks like dryer lint, or funny noises when you turn on your heater.

Our PeeShots are perfect for this application. They come in an 8 pack and are “Pee-Loaded” with 100% Original PredatorPee. Remove the lids and place the PeeShots near each tire and in engine compartment or other target areas in the vehicle. Remove before driving. Choose BobcatPeeShots for mice, CoyotePeeShots for rats and ‘coons, FoxPeeShots for squirrels, and WolfPeeShots for domestic and feral cats.

Help us get the word out – call Click and Clack – tell your friends, tell your neighbors – don’t let this happen to them or you.

That reminds me, I should go stick some in the Scout, the boat and the tractor since I startled a fieldmouse a couple of months ago who had made a home in my headlight!

All Natural, Safe Rodent Control – 100% PredatorPee

Hello All! Well, the snowbanks around here are almost as tall as I am, and the mercury is struggling to creep above zero. If I were a rat, mouse, mole or vole, I would certainly want to be anywhere INSIDE! It appears Maine rodents aren’t alone in that – the excerpts below from recent articles highlight problems with vermin from the west coast to across the pond.

Seattle, WA — (SBWIRE) — 12/18/2013 — Pest problems are not just limited to the elimination of the pest, people have to understand that pests such as rodents and mice do a lot more damage than just being a nuisance, rats and mice are notorious for the germs and diseases they spread. Additionally, these pests can also cause structural damage to a house, especially in the attics and crawlspaces. Thus, it is essential that not only the pests are taken care of but proper measures are taken to deal with the damage they might have done to a structure. http://www.sbwire.com/press-releases/attic-crawl-space-cleaning-nuisance-rodent-rats-mice-removal-414053.htm

Pest controllers have warned that Britain’s sizzling summer caused a huge increase in the number of rats and mice near our homes. The warmest, driest summer since 2006 helped Britain’s rats and mice reproduce in big numbers, according to Rentokil. And with temperatures set to plummet this month, they’ve warned homeowners that these rodents will now be seeking shelter indoors. The summer of 2013 saw lower rainfall than previous years and less flooding, allowing rodents to stay in their burrows longer and have undisturbed periods where populations grew. They now expect rats and mice to cause problems in Britain’s homes after their numbers grew ‘exponentially’. Female house mice can give birth to litters of up to 14 young, as many as ten times a year. David Cross. Head of Technical Training Academy at Rentokil UK, said: ‘Rodents like warmth, quiet and a source of food and as the first cold-snap is set to hit, it is worth following a few simple steps to avoid attracting rodents into your home.’http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pest-control-rats-mice-rodent-infestation-problem-vermin-rentokil-uk-123605184.html#FLdr6o4

Add to this that the EPA and other groups are growing increasingly opposed to the use of traditional rodenticides, and things are looking good for rodents and bad for home owners. Thankfully, we have a safe, all natural solution for your winter vermin problems – 100% PredatorPee! Our satisfied customers have used both our 100% CoyotePee and 100% BobcatPee successfully and safely for years.

But, don’t just take my word for it . . .

“This stuff ROCKS!!! It was the only thing that got rid of the rats that invaded my house in New York. New York rats are not easy to deter but Predator Pee did the trick.” WS

“Our Condo HOA provided us with a list of rat control tips including your site.” Thomas S

“I have been ordering your products for a few years, mainly bobcat and coyote  pee for rats and mice. I used google to find you the first time and I continue to refer customers to you. Thank You…Joyce”

“I heard about bobcat pee pellets through a conversation on facebook, so I googled it and found you. I am getting this for mouse repellant . . . “LaVonne

“The Honda dealer told me about you because rats had chewed alot of wires under my hood two different times now” Cindy rats

“I have ordered and used your products for the last 5 years. I use it to deny deer access to a specific area and to keep rodents out of my camper.” William

My Kind of Reality Show – PredatorPee Unleashed Episode 1

Greetings from the North woods!

Ok, we have had some serious chill this week up here! A couple of days it only made it into the low 30’s! Well, I shouldn’t complain since I choose to live here.

Anyway, moving on – would you believe that I received another email from a different production company based in New York about a PeeMan reality show?!! I just don’t understand why people would want to sit around and watch me and my family sell, package and ship animal urine. I mean – I think my job is great and definitely fodder for interesting conversation, but I wouldn’t want to sit in front of a screen watching me or anyone else do it.

I do actually have a worthwhile contribution to the “reality tv” craze. The following is a video of “real” live deer reacting to our 100% CoyotePee. Talk about drama! These deer want nothing to do with the scent of one of their feared predators. But, the whole point of reality tv is to see it, not read about it – without further ado – PredatorPee Unleashed – Episode 1

Stay tuned for more episodes.

Coyote Chaos

coyote2smallIt has been a while, but hello from the North Woods!

We have had a wide range of weather this week, for sure. A couple mornings have been in the low 20s and one day it was in the sixties! Halloween trick-or-treating was wet and windy for the grandkids.

Speaking of tricky, coyotes are continuing to pose quite a problem for residents of many parts of the United States. As these articles show, the threat of the Canis latrans continues to grow.

http://cerritos.patch.com/groups/around-town/p/city-advises-residents-to-be-wary-of-coyotes

http://tbo.com/northwest-tampa/property-owners-worry-about-coyote-attacks-in-northwest-hillsborough-20131101/

The writers of these articles have several suggestions for people facing coyote probems, BUT they do not mention 100% Wolf Pee which consumers across the country and even overseas have been successfully using for years to keep coyotes away from their property.
