Today’s Ask the PeeMan: Squirrels Under the Hood

Greetings from the North woods!

Well we have had some nice sunny weather, but today it is brutally cold. We have had frost warnings up for the last two nights, so I guess it was a good thing that I didn’t plant my garden before Memorial Day!

PeeMailTodays featured Ask the PeeMan comes to us from Deeanna:

Q.  I have had squirrels build a nest under my car hood under the engine twice this past week and chew through all the wires. My neighbour suggested coyote urine and my question is – is it okay to spray the engine and under the hood with this. I don’t want to damage anything.

A. For squirrels, we recommend FoxPee and we have a product designed specifically for your situation. Our FoxPeeShots are small “pee-loaded” cannisters – you just remove the lid and place in engine compartment and on the ground near each tire – re-cap and remove before driving.
See this link for details:

We have been selling more and more of our pee shots to car, RV and boat owners who are fed up with rodents of various types chewing wires, upholstery and otherwise wreaking havoc. Mechanics and dealerships across the country are starting to recommend our product to their customers. The convenient no fuss pee-loaded pee shots make it easy to use.  And as always, we guarantee our products or your money back! We have excellent customer service representatives(real people)to talk to on the phone and we are continually optimizing our website and shopping cart to make your online experience exceptional. I may be an old fashioned entreprenuer but I think that good customer service never goes out of style. My philosophy is that even if the product didn’t perform as expected every customer goes away knowing that we went above and beyond to ensure an overall positive experience. It may seem cliche’ but at Maine Outdoor Solutions LLC, the customer is always right!

PeeMan’s Gotta Have Hobbies: 2nd Airstream Refurb

Greetings from the green North woods!

Sunny and warm today. This post will be short on words and long on pictures. Since this is the second time that I have completely redone the inside of a classic Airstream camper, I decided more photo documentation would be good this time around. As to why I would take on such an endeavor. – I mean, I got pee to sell and a farm to manage, right? Well, it is like this – in order for me to do those things well, I need to have a project. Usually, it is more than one project. I want to work with my hands, mull things over in the solitude, and most importantly – see progress! I like results! So many things that we do in our lives either don’t produce clear results or the results may come after we’ve passed on. I may not pay close attention to the little details or do it like a carpenter would, but you bet I will get ‘er done!

Well, as you can see, she wasn’t too pretty when I started. I ripped out all of the beds/couches and the table area. I only really kept the kitchen unit. Even the overhead cabinets came out. The outside is really nice to look at but the dated, plastic interior had to go. As soon as it was warm enough to work in the unheated storage area where the camper is kept, I began ripping and tearing and basically gutting the metal beast. Progress has been swift and many more pictures will follow in the weeks to come. This is just to give you a taste and to begin from, well from the beginning. The first step to getting results!

Until I find more words(and pictures). . .The PeeMan

Ward Off Winter Wire Chewers

Hello Again!
Well it has been a rough week around here. I am starting to feel like I am living in a bad country song. My truck broke. Then my motorcycle went on the fritz. If my dog dies or my wife leaves me then I will be right there with a tear in my beer. But, seriously it has been one of those weeks.RVPic

Enough personal stuff. In Maine, the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler, and that can mean only one thing — fall is coming and winter will be short to follow. That means that it will soon be time to get those boats out of the water and rvs off the road. At the same time all the small nuisance rodents are eagerly waiting to find a warm cozy place in which to spend the long winter months. So it is time for you to start thinking about protecting these valuable assets from chewing, nesting rodents. And the PeeMan once again has your back. Our Car-Rv-Boat Pak is the solution to preventing the expensive damage that can happen when your rvs and boats are in winter storage. But, don’t take my word for it . . .

“Hi,
I have been ordering Bobcat Urine from you for so long that I am fuzzy on the details. I believe I did a Google search about nontoxic ways to get rid of mice. I believe that led me to some articles about bobcat urine, then I did a Google search on bobcat urine and there you were. It works great for my purposes. The fewer mice my cats bring in, the happier I am.”
Tamara

“Sir, you have a very effective product. I have ordered your product in the past with no problems…Animal Control here in Temple City suggested your product.”
Nino

“A friend, who is a satisfied customer, recommended you. This is my second order. Obviously it worked the first time or I would not have ordered again.”
Elizabeth

Even More Words from the Customers

PeeMailI am always astounded at the number of emails that I receive from people all over the country telling us how our product works for them. Now, mind  you, I am not astounded that the product works – that’s a given – I am astounded that people will take the time to write me an email about it. Nevertheless, my PeeMail box just keeps filling up! So, without further ado . . .

“HI, I’ve been looking for something to keep my cute chipmunks out of the blackberries. Several people suggested coyote urine. I googled several sites. Yours looked like the “most authentic” – not sure what I mean. The Amazon site had several products, but they had mixed reviews. Some sites had general “predator urine“. I think I liked that you are in Maine.” – Phyllis

"This is at least my fifth reorder for 16 oz  BOBCATPEE spray. I originally found you about ten years ago by

internet search (I think it was Google) for “Bobcat urine,” after hearing a comment on radio about bobcat urine being effective in keeping rodents out of the engine compartment. . . .We are in a rural area with an abundance of rats and mice. A few spray shots in the engine compartment of our two vehicles every one to two weeks or so generally keeps them out. When I’m negligent and it goes for several weeks without spraying, I get loaded with juniper tree branches, sticks, and droppings, etc. plus fire hazard and several times in the past, wiring gnawing damage. We also spray the corners of outside doors to hold down night deposits of droppings and ratpee. Aside from that, this is “The Land of Enchantment.” – Stan

“I found you on Google while searching for “predator urine for raccoons”. I’m going camping and heard that this was the best thing to keep the raccoons out of the
camp ground. ” – Athena

“I originally purchased coyote pee at Fleet farm in Minnesota. When I couldn’t find it one year I started ordering it on line. I used Google search engine. Love the product.”  – Mary

“HI THERE, I FOUND OUT BY SEARCHING THE INTERNET ORDERED YOUR PRODUCT AND FOUND IT TO BE
THE BEST STUFF AROUND. HOPE THAT HELPS YOU, THANKS PAULA”

“Hi, found you on google by searching “fisher scent” and you came up. Being from Maine I was psyched to see you are a Maine company. – Kate”

“I have ordered in the past. Found you on the Internet searching for something to keep the coyotes away from my cats. “- Kym

No one says it better than the customer!

PeeMan’s Gotta Have Hobbies – Airstream Refurbish Post #3

underbed cabinet doors before

It’s been a while since I have given you an update on the old metal beauty. I have been pecking away at things here and there in between honey-do projects and the Pee business. This project is kind of small but every little thing takes me a step closer to luxury camping in the Maine woods. At least, anything with real walls and a toilet is considered luxury in my neck of the woods.

Now if that ain’t a thing of beauty, I don’t know what is. Most satisfying afternoon out the spring sunshine. This project was completed before the rains started. If I sound biblical, it is intentional – it has rained every day for the last week and more is forecast. The Memorial Day weekend is gonna be cold and damp! Well, I chose to live here, so I shouldn’t complain. If you have sunshine, send some up our way.

Don’t forget Predator Urine for RVs, boats, and cars!

PeeMan’s Gotta Have Hobbies – Airstream Refurbish Post #2

Well, it has been a while since I have given you an update on the restoration of my metallic beauty. If you’ll recall from the previous post, she was in need of some serious interior TLC. That process is now in full swing, and although I may tend to jump and thrash my way through life, I am quite pleased with the way even the detailed work is coming along. I know, you are thinking “enough blathering – show me the pictures” – here ya go

I am quite impressed with myself. But, according to my family, that is not an uncommon occurrence. I am even more impressed with the weather that we have been enjoying lately. I have had  several opportunities to don my cutoffs and work outside in the glorious sunshine. Nothing like a dry, sunny spring day in Maine.  Having said that, I’m gonna get off this dang computer and go back outside. Have a good one!

PS  When you are outside getting the garden in, don’t forget to get your bottle of 100% Original PredatorPee to protect all your hard work.

airstreamplaqueHowdy!

In earlier posts, I alluded to my current non pee-related project – my metal beauty – vintage Airstream International Land Yacht – just typing it gives me the chills. Well, this project began in the fall of 2012, was briefly interrupted when I had a heart attack(look for future blog posts on my personally developed heart healthy, low sodium menu), and has been kicked into high gear in the last month or so. My goal is to refurbish her in a manner consistent with the vintage quality, but I am not a stickler, and I won’t be searching for months for some authentic Airstream toilet bowl handle. My family knows that minutiae is not my strong suit. I am a big man – 6ft. 7in., and I have big ideas and tackle big projects, but I never sweat the small stuff. Anyway, enough talk. Check out the before pictures:

Oh, and for all you RVers out there, did you know that squirrels, mice, rats, raccoons etc can easily do $1000’s of damage to wires and upholstery in any type of vehicle. Our PeeShots are perfect for this application. Check out our Car-Boat-RV Pack.   Oops! I let a little business mix with pleasure, but I just couldn’t help myself.  The PeeMan
