Ask the PeeMan – Fisher problem

Update! I was alerted by an observant person that the picture that I put in this post previously was a tasmanian devil not a fisher! My mistake. The PeeMan

It’s Wednesday and drum roll please . . . It’s time to Ask the PeeMan. In case you are wondering,  “The fisher is a small carnivorous mammal native to North America. It is a member of the mustelid family and a part of the marten genus. The fisher is closely related to but larger than the American marten.” – Wikipedia

Hello pee man!
I live in Massachusetts and we have a Fisher problem and some coyote. I have Bengal cats keeping them inside is impossible. I’m looking for a urine that will at least repel FisherCatthe Fisher without freaking out my cats. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Andy

Andrew,
WolfPee is what you need for fisher and coyote. If you create at “pee-rimeter” around your yard with WolfPee, it will keep the fisher and coyotes out while also keeping your cats from wandering out of your yard. Here is the link:

  1. Hi Mr Peeman — I live in subsidized housing in MA on the edge of woods by Smith College. My cat and me have a thinly screened porch and a fisher that turns up now and which incredibly it sat at the glass door watching her the night we moved in… what kind of wild animal does such a thing!? Last night I heard a cat killed near the porch which was horrifying. My cat heard it too and rushed over to look. I took her inside a few hours but she was desperately wanted to go out so i let her out and stayed with her. After awhile I heard (barely) something fairly quiet in the leaves which didn’t set off the sensor light but seemingly came near the porch ‐ i didn’t see it or really hear much either. Rosie bolted up and went crazy, ran over to the same spot by the screen and acted VERY strange — tail wagging, tense, and acting like she wanted to jump on whatever was out there! I never saw her do this before and she’s 14. I had a hard time pushing her away and finally had to grab her and bring her inside for the night. I can’t keep her inside this tiny miserable apt the rest of the summer (she spends almost 24/7 out on the porch) I’m disabled and this stress is really affecting me. I’ll get some recommended wire (better than the chicken wire) and an order of wolf urine. Those vicious monsters don’t really have natural predators and are so dangerous. Some posters insist they don’t make “bloodcurdling” noises but maybe they just never heard one when it was killing a cat. PLEASE watch your cats, they disappear constantly in N.E. and it’s NOT always coyotes. Thanks for your helpful suggestions and wish us luck.I never want to hear that sound again as long as I live — ESP if it’s happening to my cat!
